Throughout the year, the National Craft Gallery hosts a diverse and exciting range of Family Day Workshops. These workshops explore the current exhibitions through playful experimentation with materials, techniques and ideas. They are a great way to get your family involved in creative activities. This spring, in conjunction with the Global Irish Design Challenge exhibition, we are holding three exciting design and making workshops. These workshops offer your child time to explore creative ideas, craft techniques and design processes and are led by experienced designer makers.
This February, delve into the world of paper folding and sculpture and create beautiful Origami creatures with George Dempsey Flanagan; in March, develop imagination, descriptive powers, story-telling and artistic ability, by creating Looking & Telling story-posters with Ronan McDonnell; in April, encourage and nurture green fingers and a healthy attitude to food, by creating seedling pots to show the fun and nutritional world of planting and growing fruit and vegetables with Carrie Lynam.
